The Central Bank of Poland published its May 2025 core inflation indices, showing headline consumer price inflation (CPI) at 4.0% year on year and inflation net of food and energy at 3.3% year on year, down from 3.4% a month earlier. Other core measures showed inflation excluding administered (state-controlled) prices at 2.5% (from 2.7%), inflation excluding the most volatile prices at 4.6% (unchanged), and the 15% trimmed mean at 3.8% (from 3.9%). The central bank computes these four indices monthly to better identify inflation sources and assess persistence, noting that the net-of-food-and-energy measure is widely used in inflation targeting because it reflects prices more responsive to monetary policy than food and energy components.
