The Portuguese Securities Commission (CMVM) has launched the sixth edition of Portugal FinLab, opening applications for firms to submit innovation projects for regulatory analysis and feedback. The launch event in Lisbon included board-level participation from CMVM, the Bank of Portugal and the Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority. Applications run from 13 January to 14 February 2025. Candidates selected for pitch day will be notified by 28 February and will present their projects on 18 and 19 March, after which the regulators will select up to five projects for analysis. Regulators’ conclusions will be provided to participants in a report, followed by a final meeting to discuss the findings and clarify any additional questions.
