The Central Bank of Poland (Narodowy Bank Polski, NBP) has put into circulation a new silver collector coin, “Stanislaw Konarski”, under its “Treasures of the Medal-Making Art” series, with sales starting from 12 January 2026 through NBP regional branches and the NBP Kolekcjoner online shop. The PLN 50 coin is minted in 999 purity silver, with a diameter of 45.00 millimetres and a weight of 62.20 grams, in a maximum mintage of 4,000 pieces, and is sold for PLN 1,250. The design reproduces an 18th-century medal commemorating Stanislaw Konarski by Jan Filip Holzhaeusser, featuring Konarski’s bust with a Latin inscription on one side and two books with the Sapere auso motto on the other, alongside an abbreviated “King Stanislaw August, 1765” inscription that NBP notes is historically incorrect, citing reports that the medal was minted in 1771. NBP scheduled the next collector issue for 9 February 2026, when it will release a gold collector coin “Banknotes in Circulation in Poland” – “The 100 Zloty Note” with a face value of 100 zloty.
