The South Korea Financial Services Commission held bilateral talks with Kazakhstan’s Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market and jointly supported a financial cooperation seminar. Financial Services Commission Chairman Lee Eok-won and agency Chair Madina Abylkassymova discussed sharing South Korea’s policy experience and supporting financial institutions seeking to enter and expand in each other’s markets. At the seminar, attended by about 60 officials and representatives from related institutions, Kazakhstan outlined banking regulation trends and the development strategy for the Astana International Financial Centre. South Korea shared experience in banking resilience, financial system stability, nonperforming loan resolution and capital markets infrastructure. The two sides agreed to continue policy dialogue and financial cooperation among government bodies and related institutions.
