The Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures (MONEYVAL) has launched its sixth-round mutual evaluation of the Isle of Man, initiating a new assessment cycle against Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards and MONEYVAL’s evaluation approach. The launch included a high-level exchange in Douglas involving MONEYVAL Chair Nicola Muccioli, the Isle of Man’s Minister for the Department of Home Affairs Jane Poole-Wilson, and Jilly Christian, Head of the Isle of Man AML/CFT Policy Office. MONEYVAL also delivered targeted training sessions for government and private-sector stakeholders to explain FATF standards and methodology and how MONEYVAL applies them in practice. The training brought together more than 180 participants from across the Government, the Financial Intelligence Unit, law enforcement, the judiciary, supervisory authorities, tax and customs administrations, and the private sector.
