The Bank of Cape Verde has launched an online survey to support a mapping study of Cape Verde’s fintech ecosystem, aimed at building an up-to-date picture of fintech activities, technologies, and stakeholder motivations and concerns to help shape its regulatory response to digital innovation in financial services. Two separate questionnaires were issued, one aimed at authorised financial-sector entities and prospective entrants developing financial services business models, including credit institutions, payment institutions, electronic money institutions, microfinance institutions and managers of crowdfunding platforms. A second questionnaire targets entities involved in developing fintech solutions, including Sociedade Interbancária e Sistemas de Pagamentos (SISP), Núcleo Operacional para a Sociedade de Informação (NOSI), the Cape Verde Stock Exchange (BVC), universities and fintech companies. The survey was set to run for 120 days from 3 December 2024 to 2 April 2025, with responses due by 2 April 2025.
