The Securities Commission of The Bahamas has proposed revised fees for businesses regulated under the Digital Assets and Registered Exchanges Act, 2024. The draft rules would replace the 2024 fee rules from Jan. 1, 2027, increase certain charges and introduce fees for digital asset exchange applications, additional business activities and extensions to file audited financial statements. Digital asset exchanges would pay a $7,500 application fee and registration and annual renewal fees of $23,500, while other digital asset businesses would pay $5,000, $15,625 and $15,625, respectively. Applications for each additional activity would generally cost $3,500. Firms registered for multiple activities would pay the highest applicable registration or renewal fee plus $6,250 for each additional activity. The rules would also impose a $1,250 fee for a six-month extension to file audited financial statements, with no more than two extensions permitted.
