The Central Bank of Egypt published updated data showing a sharp rise in remittances from Egyptians working abroad, with inflows reaching about USD 29.4 billion over the ten-month period July to April of FY 2024/2025. Remittances over July to April were up 77.1% year on year from around USD 16.6 billion. Over January to April 2024/2025, inflows rose 72.3% year on year to around USD 12.4 billion (from approximately USD 7.2 billion), while April 2025 remittances increased 39.0% year on year to around USD 3.0 billion (from about USD 2.2 billion).
