The Financial Intelligence Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (FIUTT) and the Inland Revenue Division (IRD) have signed a 2026 Memorandum of Understanding setting a framework for exchanging financial intelligence and coordinating action against money laundering, terrorism financing, proliferation financing, tax avoidance and other crimes. Under the MOU, the agencies will collaborate within the provisions of their respective Acts and share information either proactively or upon request. The arrangement links FIUTT’s functions of collecting, analysing, disseminating and exchanging financial intelligence with IRD investigations and prosecutions for tax offences and money laundering matters within its remit, and replaces the previous agreement established in 2010.
