The National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia reported that Governor Dr Trajko Slaveski attended the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Annual General Meeting, alongside Vice Governor Emilija Nacevska, and held meetings with central bank peers from the region and globally. The BIS meeting reviewed and adopted the BIS’s latest activity report and its 2025 annual financial report. The reports referenced central bank policies that helped mitigate the impact of successive crises in recent years and supported economic stability, and highlighted continued recommendations for policies aimed at financial and macroeconomic stability and stronger central bank financial positions. Discussions also focused on the day-to-day challenges faced by central banks and preparations for future operational trends driven by digitalisation, in the context of the BIS’s role in international cooperation for monetary and financial stability; the National Bank noted it is a full BIS member with voting rights alongside 62 other central banks and monetary institutions.
