The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan published an update on cooperation with the Islamic Financial Services Board, stating that an IFSB delegation visited Uzbekistan from April 27 to May 1 to support preparation of a draft roadmap for the development of the national Islamic finance industry for 2026 to 2030. The visit concluded with agreement on joint tasks for developing the draft roadmap. Meetings were held with the Central Bank, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Tax Committee, the National Agency of Perspective Projects, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the Deposit Guarantee Agency, the Banking Association, stock exchanges, banks, consulting companies, microfinance institutions and insurance organizations. Discussions covered the legislative framework for Islamic finance in Uzbekistan, prospects for Islamic banking, the Islamic capital market and Islamic insurance takaful, as well as training and capacity building in Islamic finance.
