The Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency has opened a VIDA Point within its premises to provide initial guidance and support to people facing violence, risk or other vulnerable situations. The certified facility uses a confidential intake protocol to identify risks, activate protection measures and connect individuals with emergency services and relevant authorities while avoiding revictimization. The initiative brings the Superintendency into the national VIDA Points network, coordinated by government ministries, the 9-1-1 emergency system and the Specialized Directorate for Assistance to Women and Domestic Violence. Designated staff will receive specialist training and certification to identify warning signs and provide an appropriate initial response, while the facility will undergo periodic recertification against program standards.
