Bank of Indonesia published its February 2025 monetary statistics showing broad money (M2) growth accelerated to 5.7% year on year, up from 5.5% the prior month, with M2 reaching IDR 9,239.9 trillion. The pick-up was driven by faster growth in narrow money (M1) at 7.4% year on year and quasi-money at 1.8%. By contributing factors, M2 growth was primarily influenced by disbursed loans, which grew 9.0% year on year and were broadly stable month on month, and net foreign assets, which rose 4.1% year on year after 2.4% the previous month. Net claims on central government contracted 5.7% year on year after a 14.1% decline a month earlier. Adjusted base money (M0) stood at IDR 1,882.7 trillion, growing 13.0% year on year, with currency in circulation up 9.8% and adjusted commercial bank demand deposits at Bank Indonesia up 5.1%.
