Lending to euro area credit institutions related to monetary policy operations fell to EUR 19,598 million (down EUR 3,177 million), driven by a decrease in main refinancing operations to EUR 7,288 million (down EUR 2,827 million). Claims on non-euro area residents denominated in foreign currency rose to EUR 491,956 million (up EUR 1,558 million), while other assets decreased to EUR 304,143 million (down EUR 6,495 million). On the liability side, liabilities to euro area credit institutions related to monetary policy operations declined to EUR 2,817,738 million (down EUR 6,731 million), with current accounts down EUR 10,332 million to EUR 160,871 million and the deposit facility up EUR 3,601 million to EUR 2,656,867 million; banknotes in circulation fell to EUR 1,591,041 million (down EUR 1,178 million).
