The National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia published payment statistics for the third quarter of 2025 showing continued increases in both the volume and value of payment transactions, with digital payment methods again expanding faster than overall activity. Year on year, credit transfer payments rose by 7.0% by number and 15.3% by value. Electronic payments through digital channels grew by 19.0% in number and 29.3% in value, and 71.8% of electronically initiated transactions were executed via mobile applications. Card payments in trade also increased, up 9.9% by number and 12.4% by value, with transaction growth of 9.9% at physical points of sale and 9.3% for online purchases.
