The World Federation of Exchanges announced the winners of its WFEClear Innovation Awards, presented at the WFEClear conference in Toronto in April, with Eurex Clearing receiving the top award for its Reinventing Collateral Mobilisation initiative. The service is described as the first distributed ledger technology-enabled collateral mobilisation offering introduced at a central counterparty and is designed to address collateral fragmentation by allowing collateral to be mobilised across custody locations in real time without physically transferring assets. The award recognised the project’s use of new technology alongside existing market infrastructure while maintaining legal certainty, regulatory compliance and operational resilience. NSE Clearing was named runner-up for its phased migration of the Indian securities market to a T+1 settlement cycle, a change that reduced margin requirements by 50 percent while maintaining settlement stability and improving liquidity.
