The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) launched its 2025 Songkran travel safety and insurance promotion campaign, aimed at widening access to motor and travel accident insurance and linking the initiative to family and older-person protection themes around the holiday period. As part of the campaign, the OIC and industry partners introduced two microinsurance policies positioned as Thai New Year gifts, each priced at THB 10. The two products are the “Sukjai Songkran” microinsurance policy, providing death cover up to THB 100,000, and the “Songkran Sukjai Home Safe” microinsurance policy, providing cover up to THB 30,000. The programme also combines health and wellbeing counselling, financial and insurance planning advice delivered with more than 20 associations and insurance industry participants, and a free national credit information check provided by the National Credit Bureau. Operationally, OIC staff from the centre and regional offices will support road safety work during the “seven dangerous days” period of 11–17 April 2025 as part of the Ministry of Interior’s road safety centre network, with activities staged in Bangkok’s Pak Khlong Talat area to reach communities including older people and families.
