The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority issued a warning that “Baloise (IOM) Limited” and the website baloiseonline.com appear to be falsely representing an Isle of Man company and offering financial products without authorisation. The Authority said it has not established any association between the website and any genuine Isle of Man companies. The site claims an Isle of Man address, but the genuine occupiers of that address have no knowledge of the company and the company has no legitimate reason to use it. The website purports to offer financial products including banking, wealth management and investments, but the company is not licensed or registered with the Authority. The regulator warned that the website may be linked to fraud or attempts to harvest personal data for identity theft and advised anyone already dealing with the website to consider notifying local police and reporting cyber concerns to the Isle of Man Cyber Security Centre.
