The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that its TJS 100 commemorative banknote, issued to mark the 25th anniversary of the somoni, received the top prize in the international High Security Printing competition in the “Best commemorative banknote in 2025” category. The award was presented in Kuala Lumpur on 2 December 2025 to Deputy Chairman Sirojiddin Ikromi. The banknote entered circulation on 30 October 2025 and is described as the first paper commemorative banknote in independent Tajikistan dedicated to a milestone date. High Security Printing evaluates banknotes and other high-security documents on artistic design, technological innovation and security features, and the award was framed as recognition of the security level and innovations incorporated in the commemorative issue; Ikromi also delivered a presentation on the note’s features and the 25-year history of the somoni.
