The Central Bank of the Philippines has published the proceedings of the 2024 Systemic Risk Dialogue, an international conference it organised with the International Monetary Fund in cooperation with Bank Indonesia. The publication synthesises discussions and sets out key takeaways and suggested actions on the emergence of non-bank finance and the digitalisation of finance, with an emphasis on how these themes interact in the Asian context. The two-day event, held on 19–20 November 2024 in Mactan, Cebu, brought together regulators, senior officials, corporate executives, market practitioners, and representatives from multilateral institutions. In the proceedings, Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. highlighted the increased complexity of financial markets since the first dialogue in 2019, pointing to widening interlinkages between banks and non-banks, and he flagged generative artificial intelligence as an enabler for non-bank financial markets that banks have also embraced, reshaping consumer demands.
