The Seychelles Financial Services Authority issued a public warning about alleged unauthorised virtual asset services activity linked to the website eezycoin.io, which it says was allegedly operated by EMO Fintech Group LTD. The authority stated that the company does not and has never had authorisation to operate under the Virtual Asset Service Providers Act, 2024. EMO Fintech Group LTD was previously incorporated under the International Business Companies Act but has since been struck off and dissolved as of 1 January 2024. The authority reminded consumers to verify that any virtual asset service provider or virtual asset product is properly licensed or authorised in the jurisdiction it claims to operate from, noting that the FSA publishes lists of authorised or licensed non-bank financial services providers, including virtual asset services, and registers Initial Coin Offerings and Non-Fungible Tokens. It also encouraged the public to report suspected unauthorised or unlicensed virtual asset activity via the reporting form on the FSA website.
