The Monetary Authority of Singapore has committed SGD 220 million over three years to the renewed Financial Sector Technology and Innovation Scheme, known as FSTI 4.0. The scheme will support financial institutions and financial technology firms in developing and deploying new solutions, adopting market-ready artificial intelligence products, building shared infrastructure and platforms, and expanding specialized talent and innovation functions in Singapore. FSTI 4.0 comprises six tracks covering institutional projects, AI adoption, infrastructure, centers of excellence, workforce development and financial technology awards. It will prioritize frontier technologies including AI, distributed ledger technology, quantum technology and digital assets. The workforce track aims to co-fund at least 1,000 internships over three years, while a new grant will help eligible Global FinTech Hackcelerator finalists validate and scale their solutions after the competition.
