The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission has signed a memorandum of understanding with 46 public and private sector bodies for the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project. Under the arrangement, the OIC will act as an eligibility verification agency, helping to integrate data and review registrants' qualifications to support more efficient, transparent and auditable delivery of state benefits. The OIC's checks will follow the criteria, methods and conditions set by the Cabinet or the committee overseeing the welfare scheme. It said personal data collected, used or disclosed will be limited to eligibility verification, security controls will follow the Personal Data Protection Committee's 2022 requirements for data controllers, and personal data received for verification will be deleted, destroyed or returned, with a certification letter sent to the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance within 30 days after verification is completed.

The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission has signed a memorandum of understanding with 46 public and private sector bodies under the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project and will act as an eligibility verification agency to support more efficient, transparent delivery of state benefits. The OIC will verify registrants’ qualifications under criteria set by the Cabinet or welfare committee, limit personal data use to eligibility checks, apply security controls in line with the Personal Data Protection Committee’s 2022 requirements, and delete or return data with certification to the Ministry of Finance within 30 days after verification.
