The Angola Insurance Authority published a communiqué from the liquidating commission of Providência Royal Seguros, S.A. setting out the final lists of recognized and unrecognized creditors in the insurer’s liquidation. The commission recognized 159 creditors with claims totaling Kz 254,098,472 and did not recognize seven creditors with claims totaling Kz 42,888,699, following its review of claims submitted after the provisional creditor list was published. The provisional list, published on March 4, 2026, included 149 creditors and Kz 196,664,204 in claims and gave interested parties 45 days to file objections or additional claims. The final recognized list identifies each accepted claim by amount, source, nature and basis. The unrecognized list includes the same information together with a summarized reason for rejection. Reasons cited for non-recognition include insufficient proof, pending court decisions and, in one case, a claim not covered by the policy. Interested parties now have 10 days from posting and publication of the final lists to appeal any unfavorable decision to the Angola Insurance Authority, with supporting evidence including documents and witness lists. Any arbitration on the verification of claims will take place within the period set by the authority and will be conducted at its premises by two experts appointed by the supervisor, with their remuneration borne by the institution in liquidation.
