The Single Resolution Board (SRB) marked the 10th anniversary of the Single Resolution Mechanism (SRM) by hosting an anniversary conference and publishing related materials including a press release, the SRB Chair’s welcome speech, an expert video, an interactive story and an infographic. The conference brought together resolution authorities, central bankers, supervisors, banking sector representatives, policymakers and academics to review the SRM’s first decade and discuss future challenges for the SRM and the Banking Union. In his anniversary speech, SRB Chair Dominique Laboureix highlighted the SRM’s role in building a credible European resolution framework and strengthening financial stability. The SRB’s anniversary materials point to milestones including the first resolutions, growth of the banking industry-financed Single Resolution Fund to EUR 80 billion, and progress on minimum requirement for own funds and eligible liabilities (MREL), alongside a forward-looking focus under “SRM Vision 2028”. The SRB indicated that the conference recording, photos and a report will be made available on its website shortly.
