Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users reported 6,891 complaints in Puebla from January through August 2026, up 13.3% from the previous year and accounting for 3.6% of complaints nationwide. Concluded cases recovered MXN 76.1 million for users, while 46.1% of outcomes were favorable to users. Multiple banking accounted for 70.3% of complaints, followed by insurers at 12.3% and non-regulated multiple-purpose financial companies at 8.1%. Unauthorized purchases, electronic transfers and online purchases represented 37.7% of banking complaints. Across all sectors, 35.1% of complaints involved possible fraud, while credit cards, debit cards and personal loans were linked to 71.3% of cases. Electronic management handled 64.9% of complaints, improper debt collection practices accounted for 20.5%, conciliation for 10.7% and other legal processes for 3.9%.
