Rwanda Capital Markets Authority, working with the Rwanda Stock Exchange and the Rwanda National Investment Trust, held the inaugural Capital Market Youth Forum 2025 at the Kigali Convention Centre to advance financial literacy and encourage university students to participate in Rwanda’s capital market as investors. The forum culminated the Capital Market University Challenge, a national competition in which students competed through quizzes and presentations, with seven finalists presenting investment proposals. Five winners received shares in listed companies, and Didier Abimana Rutazuyaza won the top prize with shares valued at RWF 600,000. The organisers reported that over 2,700 students were reached this year, with 571 taking part in the competition, contributing to a network of more than 10,000 young Rwandans engaged since the programme began.
