The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) conducted two online consultation sessions on its review of the Research Analyst Regulations and on improving the conduct of Corporate Briefing Sessions (CBS), extending stakeholder engagement beyond earlier in-person sessions at the Pakistan Stock Exchange. For the Research Analyst Regulations, the proposed amendments are intended to align the framework with international best practices, remove interpretational ambiguities, and promote objectivity in research reports, with participants invited to provide feedback and suggestions for further refinement. On CBS, the SECP stressed that listed companies should conduct briefing sessions in the true letter and spirit to reduce information asymmetry, and indicated that feedback from the session will be used to refine the CBS framework.
