The Arab Monetary Fund, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development and the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries, published the 44th edition of the Unified Arab Economic Report for 2024. The report provides an official-data overview of Arab economies and key developments during 2023, including the effects of global economic conditions on the region. Coverage includes oil and energy, public finance, foreign trade and financial markets, alongside assessments of balance of payments, external public debt and exchange rate developments. A dedicated chapter on “Digital Transformation in Arab Economies: Opportunities and Challenges” examines the role of digitalisation in growth and sustainable development and the obstacles to accelerating technology adoption, while additional sections review Arab cooperation on food security and development aid and provide a special analysis of the Palestinian economy.
