The Bank of Italy has published details of the 58th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), scheduled to take place in Milan from 4 to 7 May 2025, marking the first time the event is held in Italy. The meeting will bring together Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors from ADB member countries, alongside international organizations, private sector, civil society and media, supported by a Host Country Program managed by Italy. The notice sets out Italy’s role in the ADB and the agenda for the week. Fabio Panetta, Governor of the Bank of Italy, is Italy’s Governor on the ADB Board of Governors and is currently Chair of the Board of Governors, with Francesca Utili (Ministry of Economy and Finance) as Alternate Governor. In addition to institutional sessions for member-country representatives, the programme includes events and seminars, including Panetta’s participation in the Opening Session and Governors’ Business Session on 5 May, Deputy Governor Paolo Angelini’s participation the same day in a seminar on “Investing in Next-Gen Skills for Jobs of the Future”, and a 6 May event on cross-border payment rails featuring Panetta and ADB President Masato Kanda, organized by the Bank of Italy under the Host Country Program.

The event will gather Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, and other stakeholders, with Italy playing a key role. Governor Fabio Panetta will participate in key sessions, including a seminar on cross-border payment rails with ADB President Masato Kanda.
