Abu Dhabi Global Market Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) issued an alert to the financial services community and the public about false and misleading claims made online by an entity named Global Investors FX, trading as Global FX. The FSRA flagged that the website globalinvestorfx.com purports to offer access to trading across multiple asset classes and falsely claims to maintain a branch office within ADGM. The advertised services would constitute Regulated Activities in ADGM, which can only be carried out by firms authorised by the FSRA. The FSRA stated that Global Investors FX is not, and has never been, licensed by the FSRA or granted Financial Services Permission to conduct any Regulated Activity in or from ADGM, and is not incorporated in ADGM or licensed to undertake commercial activities there. The FSRA advised market participants and investors to verify a firm’s status via the FSRA Public Register and, where relevant, to check the ADGM Registration Authority’s Public Register.
