Central Bank of Syria Governor Safwat Raslan assumed the annual chair of the Council of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities and presided over its 50th session in Abu Dhabi. The meeting focused on regional monetary and banking issues, including financial stability, payment system development and economic challenges. The chairmanship gives the Central Bank of Syria a direct role in regional monetary policy dialogue and banking coordination. The session coincided with the Arab Monetary Fund’s golden jubilee, marking 50 years since its establishment.
