The Hong Kong Monetary Authority alerted the public to bank press releases concerning fraudulent websites, fake internet banking login screens, phishing emails and other reported scams. It reminded customers that banks do not send SMS messages or emails containing links to conduct transactions, or request login passwords or one-time passwords by phone, email or SMS. Anyone who has disclosed personal information or conducted a financial transaction in response to these scams should contact the relevant bank and report the matter to the Hong Kong Police Force.
