The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission, Thailand Board of Investment and Stock Exchange of Thailand signed an agreement to help BOI-promoted companies, particularly those in 10 New Economy industries, prepare for and complete listings on the Stock Exchange of Thailand or the Market for Alternative Investment. The BOI to IPO program links investment incentives with domestic capital raising to support companies expanding from a Thailand base. New Economy companies certified by the exchange may receive an additional three-year corporate income tax exemption or a 50% reduction for five years. General companies may receive an additional two-year exemption or a 50% reduction for three years, depending on their business activity. The exchange has revised listing criteria and, together with the Capital Market Development Fund, will provide support for listing expenses. The commission and exchange are also piloting a faster IPO process, with the commission pursuing disclosure-based approvals aligned with international standards and promoting stronger corporate internal controls.
