The Securities Commission of The Bahamas announced that its Executive Director, Christina Rolle, has been elected Chair of the Inter-American Regional Committee (IARC) of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) for a two-year term. IARC is one of four IOSCO regional committees and addresses securities regulatory issues across North, Central and South America and the Caribbean, with 29 member regulators including those from the United States, Canada, Mexico and Brazil. The committee’s remit includes promoting high regulatory standards and facilitating information exchange and market integrity through regional collaboration. Rolle previously served as IARC Vice Chair for three consecutive terms from 2020 to 2026, and the Commission noted its ongoing participation across IOSCO committees and groups, including those focused on market intermediaries, enforcement and information exchange, retail investors, assessment and fintech. The release also reiterated that the Commission has been an IOSCO ordinary member since 1996 and became a signatory to IOSCO’s Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (Appendix A) in 2012 and to the Enhanced Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding in 2018.
