The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority hosted a Zimbabwean delegation on Aug. 24-25 for an exchange on the supervision and development of universal health insurance and marine insurance. The delegation included representatives from Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Finance, the Insurance and Pensions Commission, the Insurance Council of Zimbabwe and insurance advisers. Discussions covered Tanzania’s systems and strategies for expanding access to health insurance, including the roles of different stakeholders. The delegation also reviewed the regulatory oversight and monitoring of insurance for maritime transport and trade, alongside broader supervisory challenges, achievements and practices in both countries.
