The National Bank of Kazakhstan announced it will put into circulation a KZT 1,000 commemorative banknote dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory on May 9, 2025. The issuance is limited to 5 million copies, and the banknote is legal tender that must be accepted for payments across Kazakhstan and for deposit, transfer and exchange at all banks at face value. The banknote is brown-orange. The front features the Memorial of Glory in the park named after the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen and includes a micro-optical security strip that shows a three-dimensional effect when the viewing angle changes, including the eternal flame, flying nails and the silhouette of cranes. The reverse shows a map of Kazakhstan with excerpts from historical archival photographs and depicts the Order of the Patriotic War.
