The Angola Capital Markets Commission held a workshop for staff of the Credit Guarantee Fund on the theme of the capital market as an investment alternative. The session formed part of the commission’s financial education and literacy activities and focused on improving understanding of how Angola’s capital market works, the investment opportunities it offers, and how the market is supervised and regulated. The workshop included a presentation on collective investment undertakings covering their classification, licensing and supervisory processes, related entities, benefits and risks, the applicable legal framework and the relevant tax regime. A separate presentation addressed the regulatory framework for the capital market, including the foundations, sources and principles of regulation, the commission’s regulatory powers and the rules applicable to the market. The event also included a question-and-answer session intended to deepen participants’ technical and legal understanding of the capital market.
