Serbia's Ministry of Finance announced that, from September 1, 2026, international investors will be able to hold and settle the country's long-term dinar-denominated government bonds through their Euroclear Bank accounts. The link gives investors access through infrastructure already used across international and domestic markets, making the bonds easier to incorporate into global institutional investment strategies. The ministry expects the connection to broaden and diversify the investor base, increase potential demand and support secondary-market liquidity, with greater competition potentially contributing to more competitive yields and lower state borrowing costs over time. The project to connect Serbia's domestic capital market infrastructure with the international financial system began in 2019 and is now entering full implementation.
