The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission has published a draft amendment to the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (Investment Education Development and Training) Regulations, 2016, inviting comments on proposed changes to senior staffing arrangements. The draft would replace Regulation 15(2) to provide for one Executive Director and one Director to be promoted or appointed as Director General and Additional Director General, in line with the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Employees Service Rules, 2021. If the Commission cannot make these appointments from within its workforce, the Board could, with the Commission’s prior approval, appoint suitable individuals to the two posts on a contractual basis. Stakeholders are asked to submit views, suggestions or objections within two weeks of the draft being published on the Commission’s website or in newspapers.
