The Central Bank of Latvia's Supervision Committee has granted Nexdesk SIA a licence to operate as a payment institution. The licence allows the company to provide money remittance services and, combined with the crypto-asset services licence it received in December 2025, enables it to fully provide custody of crypto-assets and transfer services for crypto-assets. The central bank noted that it authorises crypto-service providers under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation. In some cases, firms offering transfer services for crypto-assets involving e-money tokens must also obtain a payment institution licence under the Law on Payment Services and Electronic Money.
