The Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) has published the first volume of the Journal of Financial Supervisors Academy (JFSA), positioning it as an international academic journal focused on research and innovation in financial regulation and supervision. The journal is designed to bridge academic research and supervisory practice by providing a platform for global debate and collaboration. Volume I includes contributions from academics and supervisory professionals on topics including digital finance, capital markets, regulatory independence, and collaboration between national competent authorities and universities, and was presented to Malta’s President Myriam Spiteri Debono as patron of the initiative. The MFSA indicated that a forthcoming Volume II will examine the evolving nature and practice of financial supervision in light of developments in the financial system.
