The Central Bank of Russia published the May issue of its Monitoring of Businesses, showing that the Business Climate Index declined to 1.7 points from 2.1 points in April. Companies assessed current demand more positively than in the previous month, but their expectations for output and demand over the next three months became more restrained. Business price expectations also fell noticeably month on month and, on average, moved below the levels seen in 2024 and 2025. The Central Bank of Russia reported that its Business Climate Index fell to 1.7 points in May from 2.1 points in April, as firms became more cautious about output and demand over the next three months despite a more positive assessment of current demand.
