Securities Commission Malaysia convened the inaugural ASEAN Regulatory Sustainability Summit with Durham University’s Centre for Sustainable Development Law and Policy. The closed-door dialogue examined how regulators and other stakeholders can strengthen economic and sustainability resilience across ASEAN capital markets amid emerging pressures. Building on the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum Action Plan 2026-2030, discussions covered country, market and corporate resilience, mobilizing private, concessional and philanthropic capital for climate adaptation and transition, and strengthening the financial market integrity of voluntary carbon markets. The Asian Development Bank-supported summit brought together more than 40 policymakers, capital market regulators, academics and industry experts from ASEAN and other regions.
