Argentina's Ministry of Finance convened a meeting between Economy Minister Luis Caputo and representatives of major insurance companies to exchange proposals for the sector and review the evolution of the government’s economic programme. Caputo reaffirmed that the fiscal anchor will not be changed and that there will be no changes to monetary and exchange-rate policy. The session, also attended by the Secretary of Finance Pablo Quirno and the Superintendent of Insurance Guillermo Plate, focused on measures to encourage growth in the insurance industry, alongside the importance of promoting financial education, particularly for young people. Participants also agreed on the need to support the development of Argentina’s capital markets; Caputo additionally pointed to an ongoing normalisation in liquidity and interest rates and referenced the creation of a National Political Board and a Federal Dialogue Board to improve government coordination and engagement with provinces on reforms.
