The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo reported that Governor Ahmet Ismaili met Teuta Ukshini-Aliu, Executive Director of the Kosovo Association of Accountants and Auditors (SCAAK), to discuss strengthening inter-institutional cooperation focused on improving the quality and transparency of financial reporting and supporting the development of the accounting and auditing profession. The talks also covered professional capacity building and financial education. Participants highlighted the role of reliable corporate financial reporting in supporting the business climate, access to finance and financial stability, noting that the central bank’s supervisory work considers external audit reports and therefore depends on the quality and integrity of those audits. The discussion also addressed payments and the digitalisation of financial services, including modernising payment infrastructure and preparing private-sector professionals for digital finance, safe use of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and management of climate and environmental risks (ESG). The sides considered organising joint activities such as trainings and professional workshops with other relevant institutions and associations, linking the cooperation agenda to the Central Bank’s opening of Money Week 2026 and priorities in its Strategic Plan.
