The Bank of Cape Verde’s governor, Óscar Santos, presided over the commissioning of a new Automated Teller Machine (ATM) installed by Banco Comercial do Atlântico at the Ribeira das Patas Health Centre in Porto Novo, Santo Antão, as part of a strategy to expand the ATM network and improve access to financial services. Following the installation, Santo Antão now has 12 ATMs, the island of Brava has 5, and the municipality of Calheta de São Miguel has 6. Additional ATMs are expected to be installed in Furna (Brava) and Tarrafal de Monte Trigo (São Nicolau), with the network reinforcement positioned as supporting financial inclusion and greater access to electronic payment instruments.
