The British Virgin Islands Financial Services Commission (BVI FSC) announced the retirement of Lydia George as Deputy Registrar of Corporate Affairs. George demitted office on 31 December 2025 after 32 years of service, with responsibilities transitioned to Dr Michelle Todman Smith. George previously served in roles including Assistant Registrar, Senior Assistant Registrar, Acting Registrar and Deputy Registrar, and was credited with significant contributions to the administration and development of the Registry of Corporate Affairs. Registrar of Corporate Affairs Myrna P Herbert highlighted George’s role in supporting robust, transparent and efficient corporate entity registration and noted that industry participants frequently relied on her knowledge. The BVI FSC referenced its earlier announcement appointing Dr Todman Smith as Deputy Registrar, noting that George supported the transition and has fully turned over the role, with Dr Todman Smith continuing to lead the operations end of the Registry of Corporate Affairs.
