The Canadian Securities Administrators have published final amendments and related changes to implement an access model for certain continuous disclosure documents of reporting issuers, excluding investment funds. The model is voluntary and lets issuers provide electronic access to annual financial statements, interim financial reports and related management’s discussion and analysis as an alternative to existing delivery requirements under securities legislation. To support the change, the Canadian Securities Administrators developed SEDAR+ notification functionality that lets a person or company subscribe to email alerts when selected continuous disclosure documents are filed by an issuer on SEDAR+. Investors will continue to be able to request, or give standing instructions to receive, those documents in either electronic or paper form. Provided all necessary approvals are obtained, the amendments and changes will come into force on September 22, 2026.
