Islamic Development Bank Group Chairman Muhammad Al Jasser and Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin reviewed cooperation on national health services, focusing on implementation of the Strengthening Indonesia’s Healthcare Referral Network project. The Islamic Development Bank has approved EUR 803.3 million to strengthen referral services and expand access to advanced medical technology. The discussions covered the steps needed to move the project from procurement through site readiness, equipment delivery and operation. The two sides also reviewed preparations for the proposed Teaching Hospital Transformation for Advanced Medical Specialist project, which would support specialist education and services through four major teaching hospitals. That project remains subject to Indonesian government procedures, financing negotiations and Islamic Development Bank approval.
